1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing PoloStew, creating an account, or buying from us, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. We may update them from time to time; the "last updated" date reflects the most recent change. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be 18 or older to create an account or place an order. If you're under 18, you can only use the site with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms.

3. Account responsibilities

• You're responsible for keeping your password safe.
• You're responsible for everything that happens under your account.
• Don't share your account, and don't use someone else's.
• Provide accurate information — wrong shipping addresses are the most common cause of lost orders.
• Notify us at hello@polostew.com if you suspect unauthorized use.

4. Vintage product disclaimers

This is the part to read carefully. PoloStew sells used, vintage, and second-hand goods. That means:

• Each item is one of a kind. Once it's sold, it's gone.
• Condition varies. We describe condition honestly — wear, fading, small holes, repairs, fabric softness from age, washing creases, period-appropriate construction quirks. Read the listing carefully and look at every photo before buying.
• Sizing is approximate. Vintage sizing doesn't match modern sizing. We list flat-lay measurements (chest, length, sleeve) where possible. We can't guarantee any item will fit you — when in doubt, message us first.
• Colors on screen vs. in person may differ slightly depending on your monitor and lighting.
• No reproduction guarantee. Some items are reissues, bootlegs, or contemporary reproductions of older styles; we'll say so when we know.

5. Pricing and payment

• All prices are in US dollars unless noted otherwise.
• Sales tax is added at checkout where required by law.
• Payment is processed by Stripe. We accept the cards Stripe supports.
• Your card is charged when you place the order, not when it ships.
• We reserve the right to cancel orders for pricing errors, suspected fraud, or stock discrepancies; if we cancel, we refund in full.

6. Shipping and returns

• We ship from Austin, Texas, typically within 1–3 business days of order placement.
• Domestic US shipping rates and methods are shown at checkout.
• International shipping may be available; buyers are responsible for customs duties and import taxes.
• Once shipped, delivery times depend on the carrier.
• Returns: Because every item is one-of-a-kind and condition is described in detail, all sales are final unless the item is materially mis-described or damaged in transit. Email hello@polostew.com within 7 days of delivery with photos and a description if you believe an item was misrepresented.

7. Intellectual property

The PoloStew name, logo, photographs, descriptions, journal articles, site design, and code are owned by PoloStew (or licensed to us). You may view, share, and link to public pages. You may not copy, scrape, redistribute, or use our content commercially without written permission.

Brand names and trademarks of vintage items belong to their respective owners. PoloStew is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of those brands.

8. Acceptable use

Don't use the site to:

• Break the law or help others break it.
• Scrape, crawl, or hammer the API beyond reasonable browsing.
• Try to access accounts that aren't yours, probe for vulnerabilities without authorization, or interfere with the site's operation.
• Upload malware, spam, or anything harmful.
• Harass our staff or other customers.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law: PoloStew is provided "as is." We don't guarantee uninterrupted access, perfect accuracy, or that the site will meet your specific needs. Our maximum liability for any claim relating to your use of the site or any single order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We're not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited under applicable law (such as fraud, gross negligence, or statutory consumer protections).

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold PoloStew harmless from claims, losses, or expenses arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the site.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute that can't be resolved by friendly email will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, and you consent to that jurisdiction.

12. Termination

We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably suspect of fraud. You can close your account at any time by emailing us.

13. Severability

If any part of these Terms is held unenforceable, the rest still applies.
